Before C & S, There Was Jerry's Grocery
Long before C & S Automotive opened its doors, this property was home to Jerry's Grocery, the little country store Shelly's parents purchased in 1977.
For Shelly and her brother Brian, it was more than a store. It was their childhood playground, where they stocked the old drink box with bottled Cokes, pumped gas for customers, played on the bread man's truck, and enjoyed the simple pleasures of growing up in the country.
Years later, Jerry purchased the property once again, bringing it back into the family. Chris and Shelly later purchased it from him, giving this special place a new purpose. Today, the original grocery store is connected to the automotive repair shop, with part of the former store now serving as the customer waiting and office area. What was once Jerry's Grocery continues to welcome familiar faces and new friends, connecting generations of memories with a new beginning.

2003 — Where It All Began
In 2003, Chris and Shelly opened C & S Automotive in Magee, Mississippi, with a dream of building a business rooted in hard work, honesty, and treating people right. Within two weeks, Cliff Coleman joined the team, beginning a friendship and working relationship that would continue through many chapters of their lives.
Different Roads, Same Dedication
Life eventually took everyone in different directions. Chris and Cliff carried their mechanical expertise into the oilfield industry, working in challenging environments and gaining valuable experience. Shelly pursued nursing, business leadership, and a career of her own. Over the years, Chris and Cliff eventually found themselves working side by side again, never losing the respect, friendship, and dedication that brought them together.
Coming Full Circle
Chris and Shelly purchased the former Jerry's Grocery property in Mize, Mississippi, a place filled with Shelly's childhood memories of her parents, brother, and the little country store. Chris added an automotive shop to the original building, giving this treasured piece of family history a new purpose. After years of traveling, working, and building their careers, Chris and Shelly chose to return to a simpler life, closer to home and the people who matter most.
2026 — Full Circle.
Back Where We Belong.
In 2026, C & S Automotive & Transmission Repair begins a new chapter. Chris and Cliff are working together again, and now Shelly is back with them, too. The same three people who helped build C & S more than two decades ago are together again, this time on the property where Shelly grew up, surrounded by memories of her parents and Jerry's Grocery. A little older, a lot more experienced, and with a different appreciation for what matters most. Same people. Same values. Different roads. And finally, all together again — right where we belong.
